2018 Winter Olympics

Watching the Winter Olympics always takes me back to 2002. It was the last day of Salt Lake, UT Winter Olympics when our mom’s beeper went off. God provided a special gift of life to her. A young man died and his family donated his organs. Our mom got the necessary kidney she had been waiting for with the help of God and the team of transplant doctors at Albany Medical.

God’s gift helped our mom to live a happier and healthier life for ten years. I am so forever grateful that God made our bodies to withstand rejection. In my eyes, our mom will always be my Olympic hero, she never wavered in her faith and trust in God. Thank you, God, for your provision that is always perfect.

There isn’t a day that goes by that I don’t remember someone’s sacrifice to help others. I pray for the donor’s family often that God comforts and gives them peace. It doesn’t matter if you win or lose, but to remember to do your best for God. Remember that God is our Hope. Amen!
