Happy St. Patrick’s Day!
Every year this day reminds us of several Irish traditions like drinking green beer, eating corn beef and cabbage, searching for a four-leaf clover in the shamrocks, and even wishing for a Leprechaun to find a pot of gold at the end of a rainbow.
I have seen both the Chicago river go green and the green lights via the Rainbow bridge at Niagara Falls in upstate NY. Several years ago, I got to see bagpipers in their traditional kilts playing Irish tunes with their bagpipes in the famous St. Patrick’s Day parade in NY City.
Even with all the hoopla, we need to reflect on the Bible verse from Genesis 9:13 I do set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be for a token of a covenant between me and the earth. Despite being ridicule, Noah trusted God for protection of his family, the animals, and himself. Noah built an Ark for two of every living creature, as per God’s directions. After 40 days of the great flood, God’s promise came to fruition that there will never be another great flood that would destroy every human life again. God’s covenant was given to us via a rainbow.
- Are you relying on traditions to save you?
- Who are you trusting today?
- Seek God first in every situation.
- Never doubt God, cause He never fails!
