Volunteering for God

Do you like to help others? Or are you like, Why should I bother to help someone in need, no one ever helped me.

Let us examine what the Bible says about volunteering:

Galatians 6:10 So then, as we have opportunity, let us do good to everyone, and especially to those who are of the household of faith.

Acts 20:35 In all things I have shown you that by working hard in this way we must help the weak and remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he himself said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’”

1 Peter 4:10 As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace.

May these verses motivate you to volunteer whether it is at church, with your company’s team, or by offering to support your favorite cause.

Benefits of Volunteering:

  • Gain confidence.
  • Make a difference.
  • Meet people and make new friends.
  • Be part of a community.
  • Learn new skills.
  • Take on a challenge.
  • Have fun!

Ways to Volunteer: It can be as simple as praying for someone, bringing a meal to a much needy family, or giving a ride to someone who can’t drive themselves. Do you have a special gift like carpentry, mechanically inclined, can you sing or play music, or smart with computers? Do not hide God-given gifts instead use it to honor God and to bless others.
