During my last time tutoring, I was asked to review Revelations Chapter 1. Let us review the definition of what Revelation means: 1 a: an act of revealing or communicating divine truth. b: something that is revealed by God to humans (Source: Merriam Webster Dictionary).
These verses stood out:
- Verse 3 Blessed is the one who reads aloud the words of this prophecy, and blessed are those who hear it and take to heart what is written in it because the time is near.
- Verse 8 “I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty.”
These verses reminded me that we need not only to know God’s Holy Word, but live to share it. God is the beginning and the end. There isn’t anything that God doesn’t already know. God calls us to tell others of God’s saving grace. God’s revelation to us is that we must all be ready because Jesus is coming again!
Let us close with this Doxology from verse 6 to God be glory and power for ever and ever! Amen.
