In week 3 in class, we discussed the topic of Cloud Computing. The definition of Cloud Computing is the practice of using a vendor network of remote servers hosted on the Internet to store, manage, and process data, rather than a local server or a personal computer.
For example, Google.com offers Google Drive to computer users to remotely for free 15GB to create, store, and share files, which promotes team collaboration. Most vendors provide a certain amount for free and then offer a subscription-based model for more storage space.
On a smaller scale, Microsoft Windows 10 includes OneDrive application that has a free 5GB of storage space for files and folders.
Cloud Computing eliminates the need for carrying around USB flash drives, which are easily misplaced or lost. Remote storage helps to protect company data or personal information. There are many other vendors that offer free cloud space like Amazon, Apple, and DropBox.
