National Flag Day!

In Celebration of yesterday’s June 14th National Flag Day, at our home, we give honor to Old Glory every day! I have an American Flag on our front porch to show honor to our country and that our family is patriotic.

Our nation’s flag serves, as a gentle reminder that our freedom came with a huge sacrifice and a high price. Here are some other interesting facts about our American flag:

Flag Day is the annual celebration of the Stars and Stripes. Set on June 14, Flag Day marks the anniversary of the Flag Resolution of 1777, in which the flag was officially ratified by the second Continental Congress of the United States.

The stripes represent the original 13 Colonies and the stars represent the 50 states of the Union. The colors of the flag are symbolic as well; red symbolizes hardiness and valor, white symbolizes purity and innocence, and blue represents vigilance, perseverance, and justice.

Hebrews 13:18 Pray for us, for we are sure that we have a clear conscience, desiring to act honorably in all things.

May God bless those who honor and stand beside our nation’s flag
