The Big House

Every night I leave Sing Sing, aka the big house, I get to see the most picturesque sunset along the Hudson River. I thank God for the opportunity to teach others and for the protection while inside.

The students are on time, very respectful, their homework is done, and most of all they’re eager to learn. The peace officers ensure NYS clearance procedures are adhered to while waiting outside the big front steel metal gate, as it is for everyone’s protection. Then we are slowly, but surely transported to the classroom building.

I am reminded that God’s big house is in heaven and while I can’t wait to see it. I must be patient and focus on teaching, as a way of giving back to the local community by training others.

May these Bible passage inspire you today!

John 14:1-3 Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also.
