Library Literacy

In August, I will be teaching two classes of Library Literacy 111 inside Shawangunk Correctional Facility for Hudson Link for Higher Education via SUNY Ulster.

I am so thankful for faculty staff at SUNY Ulster Community College for giving me the opportunity to teach something different. Especially grateful for the library staff for making the copies of the manual and the required articles for these two courses.

What is Library Literacy? It is 5 days of intense study of learning how to do proper research for academic term papers. Students will learn certain library terms, how to use the Dewy Decimal System, how to correctly do MLA sourcing, write an annotated bibliography, and how not to plagiarize. The class will also be working in teams on a specific topic research project.
