And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus – Philippians 4:12.
How ironic that we received a stimulus check this on the day, 4/15, when we are usually filing taxes. I feel a bit distraught accepting this money because so many people have died and there are families mourning true loss, as they cannot say a proper goodbye with their beloved, or even afford a funeral for their loved one.
Benjamin Franklin is quoted for this saying, “there are two things in life for certain, death and taxes”. So why are we taxed to death? What happened to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness? Is this the new American dream to be jobless and penniless? I think not. We must strengthen our resolve, learn to budget our resources, and find new creative ways to help others.
Yet, there is one other thing that for certain that Mr. Ben Franklin forgot to mention is that we serve a good God. The verse above states that God will supply for all of our needs. God certainly has for me and He will for you. Please be encouraged and keep trusting God for His provision.
I pray that we all remember while we are either saving or spending our government stimulus checks to give God glory, honor, praise, and a portion to Jesus for His protection over you and your family.
