MIS Week 14

In my management information systems course the students learned about project management last week. Experienced Project Managers are necessary overseers to ensure projects are completed on time.

Project Managers often use Gantt and PERT charts to keep a project on task and target. Microsoft Project software can assist managers draw and plan out projects, as well as, break the project into pieces with a timeframe for each section along with targeted completion dates.

Here are examples of each type of charts used by program managers. As you can see it’s an art form and very similar flow charting except instead of tracking data flow the process tracks tasks of a project.
