Remember those who are in prison, as though in prison with them, and those who are mistreated, since you also are in the body. Hebrew 13:3
I teach in prisons, but right now they are closed due to the covid19 crisis. While some may feel indifferent about inmates, they are still people. They can’t just leave to goto the ER for help. The news has mentioned that Correctional Facilities are in need of PPE, so I hope state governments and local health agencies will step up and provide PPE for not only for correctional officers, but those who are incarcerated to help stop the spread.
Recently, the news also reported that one local prison went from making 200 handmade wood coffins to 1,400 and that same prison has dug an area for mass graves for those who perished from the deadly virus in correctional facilities. Again, no one deserves to die this way. I pray God has grace and mercy in their souls. May they know God forgives them and come to accept Jesus, as their personal Lord and Savior.
