MSMC Byte Knights Team

This week I was able to have a special IBM guest speaker Lorraine Trapani and IBM’s Ai Jackie pup join the MSMC Byte Knights team via Zoom. Lorraine shared in great detail how IBM Watson is helping collect large amounts of crucial data on the pups in training. The dogs wear a specialized sensor collar that records the dog’s actions and then the data is automatically uploaded to IBM Watson via a smartphone. This big data helps Guiding Eyes for the Blind determines, which pups will most likely succeed as a future guide dog. IBM Ai Jackie was her cute puppy self and handles the fame like a champ. Once covid is gone, the Mount is looking forward to having them visit the campus.
