We all live with the objective of being happy: our lives are all different and yet the same.” – Anne Frank
This week my classes at Marist College will be reviewing for midterms. My Digital Toolbox students will be restoring an antique photo of a soldier. We shall discuss the elements of design, as a refresher for their art concepts test. My Technology class will be playing Jeopardy game to prepare for their computer literacy test. We just finished up learning the basics of Microsoft Excel.
My First Year Experience classes at SUNY Ulster reviewed the topics of diversity and inclusion within the classroom and across campus. We discussed the cultural similarities and differences of various countries and the importance of accepting and respecting others. We covered the issue of stress that students are faced with and how to live a balanced life while in college.
My MSMC technology classes are up to chapter 6, which is about the need for cyber security and issues of online privacy. The students are finishing up reviewing Microsoft Word this week.
So far, I was able to get 4 1/2 classes for next spring. Hopefully, I can pick up at least one more, as I try to work a minimum of 4 classes if not more, as 5 is considered full time. Then, I just pray for students to enroll, so classes will actually run. I am happy to announce that I will be teaching one new course, which is Introduction to Media. I like to challenge myself to teach different classes, so I can expand my availability for the different schools at Marist College.
