Psalm 52

Lamentations 2:19 Arise, cry out in the night, as the watches of the night begin; pour out your heart like water in the presence of the Lord. Lift up your hands to him for the lives of your children, who faint from hunger at every street corner. Jeremiah shares how we are to seek God’s mercy. We will not have mercy unless we confess our faults. God is not partial, for Jesus is hope. Lamentations 3:21-23 Yet this I call to mind and therefore I have hope: Because of the LORD’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.

Psalm 52 background comes from 1 Samuel 21. David suffered many trials to sharpen him. There was great betrayal upon David by Doeg. God was preparing David to be rise through the ranks to be king one day. There wasn’t true honesty and we need not to hurt others when we speak. God builds us up and we need to do the same. God goodness endures forever. We are to tell the truth or we will face destruction by God. God needs to be and is our refuge no matter what. Satan seeks to destroy, but God will prevail. God is superior over all. David had faith in God, where Doeg did not. God’s mercy is us if we believe and follow God’s will.

None of us deserve God’s mercy, but He gives it to us when we don’t deserve it. There is great feat where there wasn’t any. We are living in troubling times. We cannot fear life. We must trust God and live by His Word. We need to keep God at the center of our lives. God is our helper and will deliver us in our need.
