The Lord will fight for you, and you have only to be silent – Exodus 14:14.
Please join me in praying for America: Heavenly Father. We come to you with saddened hearts. We uplift the families of the individuals who lost their loved ones and for those who suffered injuries during the attack on DC. We pray for wisdom and safety for our President, Vice President, and rest of Congress as they go through this time of civil unrest during the electoral count. May the new President-elect, Vice President-elect, and their cabinet be able to have a safe transition of power. May swift justice prevent this outrageous attack from ever occurring again.
We pray for God’s hand of protection over our police officers, military, and first responders who risk their lives everyday to protect citizens. We pray also that those who wish to demonstrate do so in a peaceful manner, because it is their god-given right. May God forgive our inequities and bring healing across our land. We pray for everyone’s voice to be heard, so that better voting measures are enforced in the future. May we strive to become a better nation under God. In Jesus name, we pray, Amen.
We have now seen democracy at its worst. No one should lose their life over different view on politics or for wanting to protest peacefully. Freedom isn’t free, as it comes with a price. Unfortunately, in our nation capital we have witnessed another despicable act of violence. Look at what our nation has become! People are full of hatred for one another, which isn’t God what God intended. Jesus would be ashamed of these people. Instead, when violence happens we are left asking, “Where is the love for mankind?” If we truly care for our fellowman, then we need to start being compassionate towards others. For the love of God and country, or Americans will have no life, liberty, or freedom to pursue.
