Get Right With God

This Sunday service is from Revelation 18. In this chapter we learn that the city of Babylon is destroyed and the Anti-Christ is worshipped by the world. Verse 2 describes how dark the city of Babylon is and later in verse 8 reveals it will fall. Just like the cities of Sodom and Gomorra all their things were gone in one hour. Life was over as they knew it. The same will happen to Babylon one day upon God’s return.

This chapter reminds us that the world promises luxurious things, but they are temporary. Only God can truly satisfy us. As verse 20 states, as believers, we need to rejoice that Jesus is in control. Don’t let the bad things keep you from the best thing, which is Jesus.

What are you pursuing today? Are you following after God? The Spirit of God is warning us to choose Jesus and to avoid the things of this world because ungodly things will destroy you. Christ has a plan for each of us, if we live for Him. We need to choose God, as His plan is best for us. We must stop being selfish and seek God first. We were created by God for Him, but we must choose Jesus not just today, but everyday.
