After researching several websites on the 2021 statistics, it seems that Texas is right behind California with the second highest rate of suicide. So far this year between the two states there have been over 8,000 suicidal deaths. I am bringing this important topic up because our government needs to really visit the epicenter area where the children are taking their own lives rather than to end up in the hands of human traffickers. These children are illegally here and then they are placed in unfit detention centers. It is obvious by the overcrowding and horrible living conditions that these children are not being properly being cared for health wise nor gaining a decent education.
Why is our current federal government avoiding this issue? Do the lives of young people not matter enough to create a positive change? For the love of God, take the funds that not being used to finish building the security wall and help these children see that they matter. By avoiding the Ft. Bliss area, the rising suicide issue is only going to keep increasing. I pray that collectively we can figure out a way to help these children there in Texas who have been separated for so many months to think positive about themselves.
