Wow, I survived teaching my college class despite me being so nervous. So thankful for the tech guru who showed me how to use the classroom’s interactive whiteboard. With today’s technology, there is absolutely no need for an eraser or color markers. I was simply amazed that anyone can draw right on the screen and swipe slides while showing presentations.
Hopefully, my students will forgive me for mispronouncing some of their names while I took attendance, especially since I need to memorize 36 of them. I will try having them sign an attendance sheet going forward.
Because every student must take ”Introduction to Computers and Application Software” course, I have a variety of students from different majors, such as accounting, computer science, cybersecurity, sports management, criminal justice, psychology, elementary teaching, social work, occupational therapy, and even math.
Most millennial students already know how to use computers, but as their teacher, it’s my responsibility to expand their knowledge of technology, learn MS-Office by doing various software projects, and assist them to develop critical thinking skills.
I enjoy teaching technology, which brought to mind this verse for me, as I reflect back on yesterday’s first day of class – 1 Corinthians 10:31 So, … whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.
