For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace – Isaiah 9:6.
What a beautiful sight to wake up to this morning! We were blessed with a White Christmas, as there is snow everywhere. The first day of winter solstice, which means it is finally winter. It also means it’s Christmastime! The Christmas stockings are hung by the fireplace with care, the Christmas tree is up with the train going around, and a plate of Christmas cookies is left for Santa.
Christmas means something different for each of us. But one story that hasn’t changed is the birth of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who was born on Christmas Day! Mary and Joseph went to Bethlehem. Jesus was born in a stable and he placed in a manger for all to see, including the three wisemen a couple of years later.
Christ coming makes everything all anew. Jesus loves us. Jesus wants what’s best for us. His Holy Word continues to shine bright in the hearts of mankind. Nothing can separate us from the love of Jesus. So enjoy this Christmas by remembering, Jesus is the reason for the season, as this is why we celebrate Christmas in the first place.
