So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them – Genesis 1:27.
Recently, I listened to the podcast listed below that discussed embracing differences in marriage. I was shock to learn that elementary teachers are instructed not to address students as boys and girls, because they don’t know what gender is yet.
As a Christian, I was raised with traditional values that God is our creator and He created us to either be a boy or a girl, not neutral gender. Yet, this is considered to be so offensive? Why are we so afraid to address how God created gender?
As a believer, we are called to hate the sin, but love the sinner. If we are to accept others and their differences, then why can’t they accept our traditional values? As the Bible verse above, God created us, a man and a female. It’s that plain and simple.
I am not judging anyone who wants to be different. Rather, I want to understand why our society is so scared to actually have dialogue about gender differences that we accepted the removal of it in our schools. Why must we hide like in the garden of Eden from God? Why can’t we tell children the gospel truth? Why can’t we learn to coexist, as God created us to be in His image?
