Cancel Culture has struck again saying there are 6 Dr. Seuss books deemed inappropriate for young children. In my opinion this is infringing on our freedom of expression just like old time book burning. Where is the right to choose what we want to read or write anymore? Parents should be able to decide for their children as to what they think is appropriate to read or view.
Yes, language has changed over time and so has societal views. But, why are we letting government, big businesses, and media publishers decide what we let our children read? Society needs to stop being silent, but to stand up for our freedoms and tell them to stop censoring and treading on our civil liberties. I glad to see that libraries are keeping all of the Dr. Seuss books on their shelves available for anyone to read for years to come.
Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? Matthew 6:26.
The news this week mentioned a new phrase called “bird watchers” on social media platforms. Why can’t the media companies chase what really matters like removing violent, criminal, or only human graphical posts rather than to harp on ones with only conservative political views? Why can’t the users decide for themselves what they want to read or who we want to follow? Why is society allowing for big tech companies control what Americans can read or believe? Where has our constitutional freedom gone?
Thank goodness my trust for the future isn’t with the government nor the media, but God! As with the Bible verse above, we should rely on Jesus to protect and provide for our needs. I am praying we learn to stand up for freedom of speech, but if it must be regulated that it be done equally. May godly justice prevail for all. Freedom needs to fly freely.
I am not surprised by the censorship by the big tech companies due to the violent riots at the capital last week. However, the act banding certain members infringes upon our 1st amendment freedom of speech. If big tech can do this to the President, then they can take away our right to the freedom of speech in the future if they dislike our own posts.
Where do we as a society draw the line? Due to other companies joining the band wagon, now other social platforms and e-commerce sites are banning our choices. Why is one side allow to speak and be heard and not the other? Must we always be political correct and have no decention. Are we going to let these monopolies restrict healthy economical competition?
Why can both sides learn to co-exist? Stop the violence, stop the hate! Will there ever be true government transparency? Granted those who caused harm should be held accountable for their actions of causing death and destruction. Instead of bickering, we need to promote peace and seek healing.
Social media platforms are usually used by our government leaders to be transparent with our citizens. Normally, any citizen has the right as to who we want to follow. However, big tech media giants have been allowed to ban those who speak their political conservative views. Now these companies have removed President Trump from their platforms because of the recent riot on the capital. Sorry, but this is such an infringement off our 1st amendment of free speech.
Why did it have to take citizens dying for democracy to remove President’s account? If his tweets were so damaging why didn’t they remove his accounts sooner? Is really removing President Trump really going to make a difference? Trump is a brand and he can easily just build his own social media site. His followers will just switch to his new political platform.
I wish it would all the feuding would stop, but it is probably just getting started. No one should storm the capital or any other government building. No citizen should of died from this riot. Are social media platforms going to be held accountable for allowing crowdsourcing to occur and giving both sides room to bicker fueling the flames of anarchy?
After 1/20, the media just won’t be the same without the political feuding. Why are we letting tech giants control what we can or cannot say, like, share, or who to follow? Are we going to let silence rule us or let everyone’s voice be heard?
This morning, I woke to see the vote tallies are obviously showing the American people want Biden as President. We know that President Trump will not leave without a fight. While I don’t blame him after all that is his style, but there also comes a time to be a gracious loser and bow out with dignity. I would rather see a President do that than to waste our American’s money in a court battle that no one will ever win. However, if voter fraud can be proven, then there should be an accurate recount by each state.
I would also like to see the President create a better voting system with the use of technology. All the states should be made to follow the same rules for counting real votes. If a person voted by the deadline, then their vote should be counted. We have the computer knowledge, the financial funds, and network infrastructure to build a better and faster voting system, as counting ballots by hands is so archaic.
I pray for our divided country to accept the winner, because of one fact, there is no crying in baseball. Let us be patient during recounts, then move onward knowing it is God’s will for our country. May those in authority accept the final decision and realize the people made their choice. However, if voter fraud happened, then those who are guilty suffer the consequences of their actions. Our God is a just God. Yes, it is better one day in God’s court than thousands elsewhere. So I hope God’s people will understand that this election really means, we are one day closer to God’s return. Because no president can save this country, only Jesus can save us.
I pray for patience for our country, as the recounts are being done. While there is no crying in baseball, but there is always a next time, so hope that President Trump will consider running again in 2024.
