A Prayer for California

Please join me in Praying for California:

Heavenly Father,

We are asking You, God, to comfort those who are grieving over lost loved ones due to the horrific fire in California. Give Your strength to the firefighters and first responders, and especially for those rescue crews who are searching through the rubble.

Help our nation to provide the necessary finances and more resources to those who are displaced to be able to rebuild their lives. Grant them peace and understanding in the days and years ahead to come.

Restore their Hope in You, God, the author and finisher of our faith. May they draw ever closer to You, Father God, during their time of need.

In the precious name of Jesus, we pray, Amen.

A Reservation For Heaven

Have you ever needed to make a last minute reservation for your bucket list’s vacation only to find out that the flight or hotel is all booked up?

Heaven, is one and only place that is open to everyone. In fact, if you’re a believer, then God has already prepared your room, as it is written in John 14:2 My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you?

In the next verse, Jesus states that He is coming back for us. John 14:3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.

Be sure to read Revelation 21, which explains what heaven will look like. The new heaven is described beautifully beyond our imagination. The size alone is huge with various wall colors, along with the pearly gates and streets of gold.

• Do you have your reservation for heaven?
• Have you accepted Jesus as your personal Savior?

My prayer is that you have accepted Jesus into your heart, so you will be ready with your free one-way ticket to heaven. If unsure, then feel free to ask how to be saved. While no one knows the hour when Jesus is returning, but many say the time is drawing near.

Summer Blues

Do you suffer from the ”Summer Blues”? Also, known as, ”SAD – Seasonal Affective Disorder” that acts up at certain times of the year.

Recently, I read an article on Every Health.com written by Therese Borchard called the 5 Ways to Manage the Summer Blues, which are the following:

1. Keep Hydrated.
2. Avoid Diet Soda.
3. Eat Ice Cream (I admit I like this suggestion).
4. Create a Structure Schedule.
5. Take Time for Leisure Activities.

While these suggestions are good, but the main thing is to admit your feeling down. Know that it is more than okay to seek medical help from your doctor. It may take some time for your body to adjust to medicine, but in time you will feel better.

However, the best recommendation that I have is PRAYER. God is our ultimate healer and provider at all times. With God, we can be victorious over anything. Let us pray…

Heavenly Father,

We boldly come before you, God, asking that You would heal those struggling with depression. Remove the darkness quickly from within them and replace it with Your light that only You, God can do. Help them to feel your love, comfort, and strength. May they know that You, God, are the best medicine, the great physician and that by Your stripes, we are healed. When the summer blues come upon them, may they know they’re never alone and to seek Your help.

In Jesus name, we pray, Amen.

A Bread Crumb & Fish

One year I bought my Dad, who was a pastor, a Christian t-shirt that reads ”ABREADCRUMB & FISH”. We know the font lettering is a play on words for ”Abercrombie & Finch’” Company.

However, the Bible reference is actually from Matthew 15:36-38 where Jesus feeds the 5,000. Verses 36 Then he took the seven loaves and the fish, and when he had given thanks, he broke them and gave them to the disciples, and they in turn to the people. 37 They all ate and were satisfied. Afterward, the disciples picked up seven basketfuls of broken pieces that were left over. 38 The number of those who ate was four thousand men, besides women and children.

Do you need a miracle in your life? The same-shirt states ”He still works miracles every day!”

• Isn’t it great that God never takes a break?

• Jesus is there for us no matter what the situation.

• God is able to do more than we can ever imagine.

Praying God provides the miracle you need!

Showers of Blessings

Have you ever had bad weather damped your plans? Today, it is raining causing outdoor activities to be brought indoors or completely canceled. Yet, we need the rain for the grass and our gardens to grow. My guess is that the local farmers are happy for the rain to produce a good harvest for this year.

Don’t let the rain ruin your day, instead try spending more time in God’s Holy Word. Here are a few verses about how God sends ’Rain’ to actually helps us.

• Leviticus 26:4 Then I will give you your rains in their season, and the land shall yield its increase, and the trees of the field shall yield their fruit. (God provides food).

• Isaiah 45:8 Shower, O heavens, from above, and let the clouds rain down righteousness; let the earth open, that salvation and righteousness may bear fruit; let the earth cause them both to sprout; I the Lord have created it. (God provides righteousness).

• Ezekiel 34:26 And I will make them and the places all around my hill a blessing, and I will send down the showers in their season; they shall be showers of blessing. (God provides blessings).

God says to be thankful in all circumstances including rainy days. Praying that God would satisfy all of your needs today. May God’s righteousness and blessings be with you always.
