I am enjoying watching the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, Japan. These great athletes train so hard for this special time in their life. Due to covid, it must be very difficult not have their family and friends cheering them on in the stands. For this reason, I want to share this prayer below for the athletes, so they will know they are not alone. May this prayer encourage each Olympian athlete to do their very best for their country.
I am excited this semester is done, as it means summer is finally here! It’s has been a crazy extra long semester with no breaks due to covid. I taught both remotely and on campus for three different local colleges.
I pray for all of my students to do well on their finals exams. May they get home safely and stay healthy through the summer. Best wishes to those graduating seniors and may they do well in their future careers.
This Teacher is now officially Off Duty! Reminds me of this verse: If you lie down, you will not be afraid; when you lie down, your sleep will be sweet – Proverbs 3:24. How Sweet it will be to have a time of rest!
Who made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them, who keeps faith forever; – Psalm 146:6.
This week I had the pleasure of going to the ocean. I realized I haven’t been to a beach in 7 years, which is absolutely way to long. I have great memories of going on vacations with my folks to Ocean City, MD.
During this trip my young great-nephew helped me become a kid again, as we walked along the boardwalk to the fun arcade. He is also an awesome swimmer for only being 5, as he loved diving into the big waves with us.
I especially liked teaching him that most hotels have a Bible in a drawer, which is awesome book to read. Because now matter where you are or how old you might be that God’s Holy Word is true.
My summer vacation was most enjoyable and relaxing, as it was a way to take break from all the craziness of covid. The beach wasn’t packed during the week, but I don’t suggest going on a weekend because of difficulties of the need for social distancing in crowds.
I am back in upstate NY, which means reality the of getting ready for teaching at colleges in about a month. I didn’t want to leave the ocean, because of the peace it provided. However, I am already looking forward to our next beach adventure to continue to make new family memories.
Yes, summer is here, which means vacation time for families. Depending on the weather or temperature outside sometimes parents need to consider an indoor activity with their children. One of my favorite fun things to do is visit an aquarium to watch God’s sea creatures swim.
This reminds me of Bible verse: Genesis 1:21 So God created the great sea creatures and every living creature that moves, with which the waters swarm, according to their kinds, and every winged bird according to its kind. And God saw that it was good.
What we learn from this verse is that from the beginning of time that God is so good. It doesn’t matter what day, season, or weather it is, God’s goodness surrounds us.
God is good all the time!
Are you stuck in a valley? Life is usually great while we are sitting on top of a hill and then without warning, you can fall into a deep valley of despair. Valleys are often dark and scary it can seem like there is no way out.
May these Bible verses teach you to to reach out to God because His ways are greater than ours.
1. When you can’t face the problem, God can do the impossible. Matthew 19:26.
2. When you exhausted all your strength trying to fix it on your own, God is stronger. Psalm 29:1.
3. When you have lost your way in the dark, God shines brighter. Proverbs 4:18.
4. When you’re stuck in a valley, God is guidance. Jonah 2:6.
