I am looking forward to today’s training for Library Literacy at SUNY Ulster. I was asked to teach two sessions of it inside a Corrections facility. This is a required course as part of the curriculum for the students in the college’s prison initiative.
The American Library Association Information Literacy, as a set of abilities requiring individuals to “recognize when information is needed and have the ability to locate, evaluate, and use effectively the needed information.”
These are the four main information literacy core competencies (ILCCs) that were developed by GVSU.edu
Library Literacy is a vital skill for any college student, especially when reviewing sources for writing a term research paper.
