The definition of passion can be viewed as enthusiasm and patience. Basically, if you have passion for a purpose, then you will succeed. If you lose interest in the vision, then you will most likely fail at whatever your doing because your heart isn’t in the mission.
When teaching my students I often suggest when searching for a job be sure it’s something you like or want to learn. I remind them to research the company and their mission. Be sure to ask yourself the following questions:
- What is the company’s vision? Is it one you agree with? Do they have a mission? Does it interest you? So know you will where they’re going.
- How can you to add value to their business? What skills can you offer that their team doesn’t have already? Make sure your goals match theirs.
- What are the corporation’s expectations? Will you be able to use your passion to further the company’s purpose to take it to the next level? Be sure you can hit the ground running, but leave some room to grow into the position.
Like the above verse says, whatever you do, be sure to do it unto the Lord, not man. Put your focus on the Lord and be patient with yourself. Let your passion for Jesus shine through you.
